Scotch Oakburn Artist in Residence, 2021
Launceston Tasmania
School Residency

I was lucky enough to travel to Launceston earlier this year to complete my second residency at Scotch Oakburn. I worked with so many students from grade 4–12 on a bunch of different projects in and out of the classroom. We played, designed, laughed and made drawings together. I was overwhelmed and really impressed by the talent and enthusiasm of the students. It’s a real honour and joy to share my process and studio space. I get so much out of being quizzed by young people and sharing tips and new artists to check out.

The best part of being in Launceston was working alongside the amazing Carmel Dilger. The students at SOC are very lucky to have such an amazing art teacher. I learnt so much from Carmel. I never really studied any Art subjects as school, so it was really inspiring to see what an impact a great teacher can have on students.
